# How to create invitation links with the API

Use the DataDoe public API to create one-time Seller or Vendor invitation links from your application or automation.

## Create an invitation

Send a `POST` request to `/api/v1/util/sellers-and-vendors/invite`. Include your `datadoe-api-key` header:

```json
{
    "name": "Partner ABC",
    "tenantType": "SELLER",
    "accessLevel": "READ_ONLY",
    "redirectUrl": "https://example.com/datadoe/callback"
}
```

`redirectUrl` must use HTTPS and include a domain name. localhost, IP addresses, and hostnames without a domain suffix are rejected.

The API returns status `201`:

```json
{
    "invitationUrl": "https://app.datadoe.com/invitation/…",
    "expiresAt": "2026-08-25T12:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Open `invitationUrl` in a browser. The invitee completes the Seller Central or Vendor Central connection. Amazon Ads is optional and can be connected or skipped.

## Callback parameters

When the flow finishes, DataDoe redirects the browser to `redirectUrl` with status `302`. The query string includes:

- `success`: `true` or `false`
- `error`: empty on success, or `SC_SELLING_PARTNER_ALREADY_AUTHORIZED`, `SC_ACCOUNT_LACKING_PERMISSIONS`, `ADS_NO_PROFILE_FOUND`, or `UNKNOWN`
- `sellerOrVendorId`
- `sellerOrVendorName`
- `sellerOrVendorMarketplaceCountryCode`
- `sellerOrVendorSellingPartnerId`
- `invitationId`

Seller and Vendor fields are empty when DataDoe cannot identify the account. Existing query parameters on your callback URL are preserved.

Invitation links are single-use and valid for 7 days.
