What are DataDoe Extensions?

Extensions help DataDoe understand your business and work the way you expect. Instead of repeating the same background information and instructions in every conversation, you can save them once and reuse them across DataDoe agents.

DataDoe currently supports Memories. A Memory is a reusable note containing business context, preferences, terminology, or instructions. When a Memory is enabled, agents can use it while helping you.

Example use cases

  • Brand voice: Explain how your brand communicates and which terms it prefers.
  • Business definitions: Define terms such as net sales, contribution margin, or active customer.
  • Reporting preferences: Specify preferred date ranges, currencies, marketplaces, or comparison periods.
  • Product context: Describe product groups, naming conventions, seasonal ranges, or strategic priorities.
  • Working guidelines: Save recurring instructions, such as always showing ASINs with product names or excluding test orders.
  • Organization knowledge: Give everyone consistent background about your business, goals, and operating rules.

Organization and Own Memories

  • Organization Memories are shared with everyone in your Organization. They are useful for company-wide definitions, brand guidance, and common business rules. Only Organization Owners can manage them.
  • Own Memories are personal to you. They are useful for individual preferences, responsibilities, and recurring ways of working.

Use Organization Memories for information that should be consistent for the whole team. Use Own Memories for context that applies only to your work.

How to add a Memory

  1. Open Extensions (opens in a new tab) from the DataDoe side menu.
  2. Choose Organization Extensions or Own Extensions.
  3. Select Add organization Extension or Add own Extension.
  4. Choose Memory.
  5. Give the Memory a clear name, such as “Brand Voice” or “Weekly Sales Reporting”.
  6. Add the information or instructions you want DataDoe to remember.
  7. Choose whether the Memory should be enabled, then select Create Memory.

If the active Memory limit has been reached, DataDoe saves the new Memory as disabled. You can enable it after disabling another Memory.

Managing Memories

Open a Memory to review or update its content. Use the Enabled switch to control whether agents should currently use it. Disabled Memories remain saved and can be enabled again later.

The usage indicator on the Extensions page shows how many Memories are active and how much context they use. Own Memories share the active Memory allowance with Organization Memories.

Tips for effective Memories

  • Keep each Memory focused on one topic.
  • Use a clear, descriptive name.
  • Write instructions in direct language and include examples where helpful.
  • Review Organization Memories regularly so shared guidance stays accurate.
  • Disable outdated Memories instead of leaving conflicting instructions active.
  • Do not store passwords, access keys, or other secrets in Memories.

Memories work best for stable context and recurring instructions. Use DataDoe data and reports for information that changes frequently, such as current sales, inventory, or advertising performance.
