Use ChatGPT with DataDoe MCP
Use this guide to connect DataDoe MCP to ChatGPT as a custom MCP app. You can then query your DataDoe workspace from ChatGPT.
Before you start
- Use ChatGPT on the web. Custom MCP apps are not available in the desktop or mobile apps.
- Pro users can connect custom MCP apps that can read and fetch data in Developer mode.
- Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces support full MCP apps, including write and modify actions. An admin or owner must enable Developer mode before creating or publishing an app.
- In Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin can use role-based access control (RBAC) to give selected members access to Developer mode and apps.
During setup, ChatGPT redirects you to DataDoe so you can sign in and approve access.
Step 1: Copy the MCP server URL
Copy this URL: https://mcp.datadoe.com/mcp/v1.
Step 2: Enable ChatGPT Developer mode
Pro
- Go to
chatgpt.com. - Open Settings → Apps → Advanced settings.
- Enable Developer mode and read the warning before continuing.

- Enable Developer mode / Create custom MCP connectors.
- In Enterprise and Edu workspaces, configure RBAC if only selected members should create or use custom apps.
ChatGPT labels may use Apps, Connectors, or custom MCP connectors, depending on your plan and workspace configuration.

Security

- Access is scoped to the permissions of the DataDoe user who approved the connection.
- To revoke access, go to DataDoe MCP Integrations (opens in a new tab) and remove or unpublish the app in your ChatGPT workspace settings.

chatgpt.comand DataDoe. - Temporarily disable ad or tracking blockers that might interfere with OAuth flows.
- Try a private browsing window to rule out extension issues.
I created the app but cannot add it to a chat
- In a workspace, make sure an admin has tested and Published the app.
