How do external invitation links work?

External invitation links let a logged-in DataDoe organization owner invite an external Seller or Vendor to connect their Amazon account without first adding them as a DataDoe user. The owner creates a link, shares it with the external customer, and DataDoe guides that person through the connection flow for the correct organization.

  1. Open Sellers & Vendors in DataDoe.
  2. Click Invite External Seller or Vendor.
  3. Fill in the invitation name and choose whether the link is for a Seller or a Vendor.
  4. Create the invitation and copy the generated link.

The link is public, so you can send it outside DataDoe by email, chat, or any other secure channel.

Open Sellers & Vendors and switch to the Invitations tab. This table shows your active invitation links, including:

  • the invitation name
  • the generated link
  • the tenant type
  • the creation date
  • the valid-until date
  • the option to remove the link

How do I know which account came from an invitation?

When the external customer finishes the connection flow, the resulting Seller or Vendor account is marked as added via invitation. In the Sellers and Vendors tables, look for the Via Invitation column. A value of Yes means that account was connected through an external invitation link.

External customers do not need a DataDoe account before using the link. After they open it, they are guided through the connection steps:

  1. Review the invitation page to confirm the organization name and the account type.
  2. Continue to the connection flow.
  3. Select the Amazon marketplace.
  4. Sign in and authorize the Seller Central or Vendor Central connection.
  5. If Ads access is part of the flow, complete the Ads connection step too.
  6. Finish the flow and return to DataDoe.

If the link is no longer valid, DataDoe shows an error instead of continuing the flow.

Invitation links are created with a limited lifetime of 7 days.

  • A link is active until it expires or is used.
  • Once a connection is created through the link, the invitation is consumed and cannot be used again.
  • If the owner removes the invitation from the Invitations table, the link is no longer available.
  • A cleanup job removes expired links and also removes already-used links after they have been kept for a short grace period.

Note: if the customer opens an invitation after it has expired, been deleted, or already consumed, DataDoe treats it as invalid and stops the flow.
