DataDoe + Claude Tag in Slack

Claude Tag for Amazon: your numbers, in the thread

Connect DataDoe, and anyone in #amazon-ops can tag @Claude with a Seller Central, Vendor Central or Amazon Ads question. The answer lands in the thread for the whole team to read, digests post on a schedule, and a change to Amazon waits for the person who owns it.

Claude Tag is in public beta on Claude Team and Enterprise. DataDoe is $97 a month after a 14-day free trial.

• Two ways DataDoe reaches Slack

Your connector, or the channel’s.

Claude Tag does not borrow anyone’s login by default. When you tag it in a channel, it can reach DataDoe in two ways, and most Amazon teams end up using both: a personal connector for their own asks, and a shared one for the channel.

@Claude in #amazon-ops
Your own DataDoe

Personal connector

DataDoe added on your claude.ai account, under Customize → Connectors.

  • Only your requests use it. A teammate who asks in the same channel never gets your connector.
  • Claude asks you first, in a prompt only you can see: Allow, Allow with review, or Don’t allow.
  • Runs with your DataDoe login, and Claude records the work under your name.
  • On for every Team-plan organization. On Enterprise, an admin can make Claude hold every result for your review.
Best for: one-off questions, and changes you want to sign off yourself.
The channel’s DataDoe

Claude Tag connector

DataDoe added once by a Claude Owner in the Claude Tag admin settings.

  • Same access for everyone who asks in the channels it is attached to.
  • Routines need it. Scheduled digests and channel watches run on the channel’s access, never on a personal connector.
  • Reaches only the channels its bundle names, so an #amazon-ops connector stays out of #general.
  • Signs in to DataDoe once, with a login the team controls instead of a person’s.
Best for: a shared Amazon channel and anything that runs on a schedule.

@Claude what is stranded or unfulfillable in FBA right now, and what does it cost us each month?
ClaudeAPP10:15 AM
Five SKUs are stuck. Two of them make up most of the cost:
SKUUnitsReasonFees / mo
BRD-OAK-L212Stranded$318
KNF-SET564Customer damaged$141
3 more39Mixed$52
The Oak board listing is missing a required field, which is why it went stranded. Want a dry run of the fix?
• Ask where you already talk

One question per channel.

The PPC lead lives in #ppc, the warehouse team in #amazon-ops, finance in its own corner. With DataDoe behind Claude Tag, each of them asks in their channel and the answer stays in a thread where the rest of the team can read it, push back or follow up. Click a channel to see the kind of ask it gets.

  • Start with one channel

Pick the channel where Amazon questions already pile up, add Claude there, and widen access once the team trusts the answers.

  • Check what it can reach

Send @Claude what can you access from this channel? and it lists the connectors that apply there, DataDoe included.

  • Keep going in the thread

Once Claude is in a thread it reads every reply, so “now split that by marketplace” needs no new mention.

• Claude Tag setup

Who clicks which step.

Installing Claude in Slack touches three admin roles that are rarely the same person. The numbers give the order; plan a short slot together, because the pairing code from Slack is only valid for 15 minutes.

Steps 1 to 3 are Anthropic’s own Claude Tag setup; 5 and 6 are where DataDoe comes in. Skip step 6 and Claude can still use DataDoe through each member’s own connector, but scheduled posts won’t have Amazon data.

Claude Tag can take standing work: a job on a schedule, or a watch over a channel. Describe it once in the channel where it should post, and DataDoe supplies fresh Amazon numbers every time it runs. Here is a week one Amazon team set up.

@Claude every weekday at 9am Eastern, post yesterday’s Amazon sales, ad spend and any SKU under 14 days of cover in this channel. Five lines, one per marketplace.

Channel access onlyA routine runs on the DataDoe connector attached to its channel. Personal connectors never run unattended.
Say the time zoneSchedules are stored in UTC. Write “9am Eastern”, and re-check after the clocks change.

Reports, not changesLet routines read and propose. A live change to Amazon should wait for a person in the thread.
• Changes and approvals

The right person says go.

A shared channel is a good place to propose a change to Amazon and a bad place for anyone to push one through. Three layers decide who can, and the strongest one sits in DataDoe, outside Slack.

  • DataDoe

Nothing writes until you say so

Each kind of change, from prices to bids to shipments, stays off in DataDoe until you turn it on. A dry run validates a change without sending it, and every Action that does run is logged.

  • Claude Tag

    Access stops at the channel

The shared DataDoe connector only exists in the channels its bundle names. Keep it in #amazon-ops, out of guest and Slack Connect channels. Your personal connector asks you before it is used, and can hold each result for your review.

  • The channel

    A named approver

Tell Claude who signs off, and it keeps that in the channel’s memory for every thread. It is a working rule, not a lock, which is why the two layers above it matter.

The rule lives in #ppc’s memory, and anyone in the channel can ask Claude to show or change it.

The first time a request of yours needs your own DataDoe connector, Slack shows you this prompt and no one else.

• Anthropic hub

Ask alone, or ask as a team.

DataDoe works the same behind every Claude product, so the choice is about who needs the answer. Anthropic’s own rule of thumb: team work in shared channels goes to Claude Tag, personal work goes to Cowork or Claude Code.

FAQ

Before the first @Claude.

Claude Tag is Anthropic's Claude inside Slack. You add it to a channel, tag @Claude in a message, and it works on the request in that thread: it posts a checklist as it goes and replies where everyone in the channel can read it. Admins decide per channel which tools it can reach. It replaced the earlier per-user Claude in Slack app.

Yes, in two ways. A Claude Owner can add DataDoe as a Claude Tag connector and attach it to chosen channels, so everyone there gets the same Amazon access. And anyone who has DataDoe on their own claude.ai account can let Claude use it for their own requests in a channel, after approving a prompt only they see.

Claude Team and Enterprise, on Anthropic's own service, while the product is in public beta. It is not part of Free, Pro or Max. Slack members do not each need a Claude seat to tag @Claude in a channel; channel work draws on your organization's usage balance, capped by a spend limit an Owner sets.

A Slack workspace admin installs the Claude app from the Slack Marketplace, invites it to a channel with /invite @Claude and sends @Claude connect. That returns a pairing code, valid for 15 minutes, which a Claude Owner pastes into the Claude Tag setup page in claude.ai admin settings before choosing channels and launching.

Yes. Describe the schedule and the content in the channel, for example "every weekday at 9am Eastern, post yesterday's sales and ad spend". Routines run on the connectors attached to that channel, so DataDoe has to be added there as a Claude Tag connector; a personal connector is never used for work Claude starts on its own.

Only what DataDoe allows. Every kind of change is off in DataDoe until you enable it, can run as a dry run first, and is logged when it runs. On top of that, keep the shared connector to the channels that need it, and tell Claude in the channel's memory who approves live changes.

Whatever Claude posts in a channel thread is visible to everyone in that channel, like any other message. Put Amazon work in a private channel if the numbers are sensitive. With a personal connector, Claude checks results for commercial and other sensitive content and can hold them for your review before posting.

Yes. DataDoe is also the Amazon data partner of Viktor, the AI coworker for Slack and Teams, and is listed in Viktor's integrations. Claude Tag and Viktor are separate products; the same DataDoe account can serve either.

Two bills. Claude Tag channel work is billed by usage to your Claude organization, under the spend limit you set. DataDoe is $97 a month after the 14-day free trial, covering the Seller Central, Vendor Central and Amazon Ads accounts you link.
